What is event seating chart software?

Event seating chart software lays out the tables and chairs in a room and, for some events, assigns guests to them. Map D draws tables and chairs to scale on the same floor plan as your booths, and seats named attendees at matchmaking round tables.

Can guests look up their assigned seat?

Not as a documented feature. Attendees see the tables you drew on your published floor plan, but tables are not part of the map's place search, and assigning a dinner or wedding guest list to seats is not something Map D's help documentation describes.

Is Map D event seating chart software suitable for trade shows?

Yes. Shows that run hosted buyer meetings or round tables can seat attendees at numbered tables through MatchMaking, and the tables for dinners, lounges and sessions sit on the same floor plan as the booths.

Can I plan seating for large conferences and networking events?

Yes. Every table and chair is drawn to scale, so you can see what fits each room before you commit. For conferences that run matchmaking, round tables seat attendees one time slot at a time, with a set number of chairs at each table.

Does Map D support table-based and seat-based layouts?

Yes. Tables come as Round, Banquet, Classroom, Cocktail, Stage and Counter, and each one draws its chairs around it from the seat count you set. Chairs, armchairs, loveseats and sofas cover lounge corners.

Can guests see the room layout on their phones?

Yes. Furniture you place shows on your published floor plan, so attendees see the tables on your Homebase, on the floor plan embedded on your website and in your show's app.

Does Map D integrate seating with speed networking and matchmaking?

Yes, through MatchMaking. Round tables seat several attendees around a company's table for one time slot, beside one-on-one meetings on the same Appointments screen, and you can mark a host at each table. MatchMaking is switched on per show.

Can organizers change the seating plan close to the event?

Yes. Edit the plan in the map editor and publish again to update what attendees see. On a matchmaking round table you can seat or remove people, change the number of chairs, or delete the table, which cancels its seats with the normal cancellation emails.

What types of events benefit most from Map D seating chart software?

Trade shows with hosted buyer meetings or round tables, conferences, networking events, and the dinners, receptions and award nights where you need to see how the tables fit the room.

Can I share the seating layout with my venue or caterer?

Yes. Export the map as an image to share the layout, and once it is published, visitors can print the whole plan from the online floor plan.
