Accessibility at Map D
Map D builds software that people use to find their way around trade shows, conferences, and community events, whether on their phones, on venue kiosks, or on the web. Those people have a wide range of abilities, and the experience should work for all of them. This page sets out the standard we hold ourselves to, where this website currently stands against it, and how to tell us when we fall short.
The standard we work to
We are working toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines are the international standard for digital accessibility, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. Level AA is the conformance level referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act, and the European Accessibility Act, and it is the level most of our customers ask for.
Where we currently stand
This website has been audited against WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and we have resolved the issues that audit found in our own code. A small number of content issues remain in older blog articles, and we have not yet completed structured testing with assistive technology, so we do not claim full conformance today. We would rather tell you precisely where we fall short than publish a claim we cannot support.
How we test
Our most recent review covered every page on this site and combined:
- Automated accessibility scanning of the published pages.
- Manual inspection of the underlying markup: heading structure, landmark regions, list and table semantics, form labelling, and link text.
- Measurement of colour contrast ratios against the WCAG 2.2 thresholds.
- Review of keyboard operability and focus handling across the site's interactive components.
Structured testing with screen readers and other assistive technology is part of our remediation plan. We will update this page to name the technologies and browser combinations covered once that work is complete.
Known limitations
We are aware of the following issue and are working to resolve it:
- Some older articles on our blog use link text such as “click here”, which does not describe where the link goes when read on its own.
Third-party content
Some parts of this site are supplied by other companies and rendered by their code rather than ours:
- Contact and demo request forms are provided by HubSpot.
- Demo scheduling is provided by HubSpot Meetings.
- Embedded video is provided by YouTube.
We have limited ability to change the markup these services produce. Where a third-party component would otherwise block access to something essential, we provide another route to it. You can always reach our team directly by phone or email instead of using a form.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, or you need information from it in a different format, please tell us. It helps if you include the address of the page, a description of the problem, and, where relevant, the assistive technology and browser you were using.

What this statement covers
This statement applies to mapdevents.com, our marketing website. It does not cover the Map D platform itself: the interactive floor plans, mobile event app, wayfinding, registration, and badge printing tools we provide to event organizers and their attendees. If you are evaluating Map D and need accessibility documentation for the product, including a VPAT or Accessibility Conformance Report, contact us and we will tell you what is currently available.
